The game is focused on Merlin when he was younger, before he developed into the wise wizard he is known for today, following in the footsteps of titles like Rise of Merlin. The Grimoire, an ancient book of spells that contains the knowledge necessary to master magic, is where Merlin hopes to find it.

The grimoire (book of spells), which doubles as wild and scatter, and the premium symbols pay between 2.5 and 4 times your wager for 5 of a kind. The grimoire is a wild symbol that substitutes for all other regular pay symbols to assist complete wins, and it also acts as a scatter to start the bonus round.

When reels 1, 2, and/or 3 are enabled in the base game, Splitting Symbols can appear. The number of win methods increases as a result of the splitting in half of all symbols on reels that are active.

To enter the Bonus Round, you must have 3, 4, or 5 Grimoire scatters in your field of view. When you do, you will receive an initial payout of 0.8, 1.6, or 4 times your bet, accordingly. 10 further spins are subsequently awarded, and the book opens to show the unique expanding symbol. You can retrigger the feature to gain additional free spins throughout the bonus round.

If enough of the special expanding symbol appears to produce a win, it fills the entire reel; the special symbol need not land next to another for a win to occur. The best case scenario is five expanding symbols on active reels because all reels can activate during the bonus round and all symbols can split. You now have 7,776 different ways to win.
